Red Hot Chilli Peppers had to cancel their performance at the annual KROQ Weenie Roast in Irvine, California, due to vocalist Anthony Kiedis having to be rushed to hospital for ‘extreme stomach pain’. a KROQ rep told Billboard.

Drummer Chad Smith tweeted after the announcement was made:

“No one’s more disappointed than us that we couldn’t perform tonight. Sending love and a speedy recovery to my brother Anthony,”

Weezer closed the show in place of the Chilli peppers.

This follows the release of new material from RHCP including latest single ‘Dark Necessities’ (below)

Red Hot Chilli Peppers are also billed to headline Reading and Leeds Festivals in August.

Everyone at RAMzine would like to wish Anthony a speedy recovery.
