To celebrate the release of Rory’s 50th Anniversary Box Set of his eponymous debut album (1971-2021), the Rory Gallagher tribute band Band Of Friends fronted by Gerry McAvoy (the original bass guitarist on Rory’s debut album), performed a unique one-off livestream show to celebrate the launch of the 50th Anniversary performing key songs from the album.
The 30-minute livestream performance took place on Thursday 9th September and you can still check it out at Gallagher’s official Facebook Page and YouTube Channel.
Featuring 5 discs, the 50th Anniversary Box Set of Gallagher’s eponymous 1971 debut album includes a brand-new mix of the original album, 30 previously unreleased outtakes and alternate takes, a six-song 1971 BBC Radio John Peel Sunday Concert, plus four 1971 BBC Radio Sounds of the Seventies session tracks, all mastered at Abbey Road Studios.
Also included, is a previously unreleased 50-minute DVD of Rory’s first-ever solo concert which was filmed in Paris, for the Pop Deux TV show.
