Legendary rock guitarist Steve Hackett has also made an impact on the classical music scene during his varied career, and two albums in that category re about to be reissued by InsideOutMusic this August.
Bay Of Kings, his first album of instrumental, classical guitar music, is one of the records being reissued. Originally released in 1983, it features contributions from Nick Magnus on keyboards and John Hackett on keyboards and flute. It can be ordered here. 1988’s Momentum is the second release where it’s been remarked crafted “beautiful compositions”, and that too features his brother John on flute. That one can be ordered here.
“My love of classical guitar began to coalesce with both Bay Of Kings and Momentum, which showed another side of the guitar,” remarked Hackett. “This was the opposite of rock ‘n roll… A more romantic and personal approach already hinted at within both the Genesis music and my solo work. I’m proud that these albums are getting a second lease of life.”
Both albums have been newly remastered for vinyl and will be available as gatefold 180g LPs in both black and limited coloured vinyl editions. New digipak CD editions will also be available.
Steve Hackett has made a small promotional video regarding the records that you can check out here at RAMzine.
