Recent years have seen guitarist and vocalist Andy Scott repurpose Sweet as a formidable live act and none-too-shabby when they’ve entered the recording studio. A steady line-up is fronted by Paul Manzi, with Lee Small on bass and backing vocals, Tom Cory on guitars, keyboards and backing vocals, and, following longtime drummer Bruce Bisland‘s retirement from the band, his replacement Adam Booth on drums, with FM guitarist Jim Kirkpatrick also appearing on occasion.
Following its 2024 release, their Full Circle album became the band’s first Top 20 entry in the German album charts since their 1978 classic Level Headed, the last album recorded by the four original band members. Internationally, many critics and fans agreed, and with a strong album under their belt, it was only natural for the band to present the new songs live.
To that end, Live 25 will be released on 23rd October through Metalville Records. Alongside tracks from Full Circle, Sweet perform all their classic hits plus a few heavy rock tracks that had rarely made it onto the setlist in previous years.
“Live 25 is more than just a live recording, it’s a celebration of what Sweet do best,” declared Andy Scott. “From the 1970s, performing live has always been at the heart of who we are, and that fire still burns bright. So crank up the volume, sing your heart out, and experience the energy of a Sweet live concert.”
The tracks featured on Live 25 are ‘Full Circle (Intro)’, ‘Action’, ‘Hellraiser’, ‘Circus’, ‘The Six Teens’, ‘Don’t Bring Me Water’, ‘Lost Angels’, ‘Windy City’, ‘Set Me Free’, ‘Teenage Rampage’, ‘Wig Wam Bam / Little Willy Medley’, ‘Love Is Like Oxygen’, ‘Fox On The Run’, ‘Blockbuster’, ‘Ballroom Blitz’ and ‘Sweet Jane (Outro)’.le Willy Medley’, ‘Love Is Like Oxygen’, ‘Fox On The Run’, ‘Blockbuster’, ‘Ballroom Blitz’ and ‘Sweet Jane (Outro)’.
