The Cranberries Mark 25 Years of Wake Up And Smell The Coffee

The Cranberries will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their fifth album, Wake Up And Smell The Coffee, with an expanded deluxe edition on 29 January 2027 via Geffen/UMe.

The band made the record straight after a 110-date tour for Bury The Hatchet. “Often at the end of a tour you feel burned out, but this was the exact opposite,” says guitarist Noel Hogan. “We were buzzing and wanted to capture that energy and togetherness in the studio.”

It also reunited them with producer Stephen Street, who had guided their first two albums. “In Dolores’ case, there was no doubt that she’d turned into a star,” Street remembers. “Beneath it all, though, she was still the Dolores I knew and loved from the early days.” Drummer Fergal Lawler agrees: “Creatively, Dolores was on fire.”

The reissue comes in several formats, and the most eye-catching is a limited edition vinyl filled with liquid coffee, complete with a scratch and sniff coffee-scented sticker. The 3LP and 2CD deluxe editions add B-sides and fan favourite ‘7 Years’, along with new 2026 mixes by Street, previously unreleased live recordings from Dublin’s Vicar Street, and a track-by-track retrospective from the band. The digital deluxe edition gathers all 36 tracks, and there are also 1LP and 1CD editions.

Fuelled by singles ‘Analyse’ and ‘Time Is Ticking Out’, the album showed Dolores O’Riordan and co. pushing their sound into edgier territory.
