New album Something Something Disco is due on 10 September 2026 from feel-good rockers Sweet Electric. Ahead of that, they’ve shared their new single ‘Long Way Back’.
The single was written about the painful reality of the rock ‘n’ roll journey: dedicating every breathing moment to rock ‘n’ roll despite it never once paying your rent.
Frontman Brad Marr explained: “I got old, I don’t know when but I did and now everything hurts. My rock ‘n’ roll journey started at the old Cherry Bar in Melbourne when I was 18. I thought I was the best, I made a lot of enemies.
“Made some fans too, burnt through them too, moved countries, started again and again, struggled on until one day it was time to realise rock ‘n’ roll had passed me by. The problem is, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks so here I am doing the only thing I’ve perfected in life. The lyrics to this song is the blurb to my autobiography.”
The five-piece are based in Cologne, Germany, and fronted by Australian madman Marr, the former frontman of Massive. Although they only got together in 2022, they have already racked up multiple international tours, performed live on national TV for Rockpalast and developed a strong following.
