Metal enthusiasts, brace yourselves! Hailing from the south-side Chicago neighbourhood known as Little Village/La Villita, and of Mexican and Latin American decent is Through N Through, a band set to unleash their electrifying new single ‘Cero Miedo’ on 9th August, via Golden Robot Records.
This track marks a bold step forward for the band as they dive deeper into their metal roots, blending the raw energy of NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) with the relentless intensity of 80s Hardcore Punk.
‘Cero Miedo’ is a battle cry, with lyrics in both English and Spanish that champion the spirit of fighting for what you believe in. The single delivers crushing fast beats and riffs that are primed for a fight, demonstrating Through N Through‘s ability to combine aggression with melody.
“This song is about resilience and unwavering determination,” said lead vocalist Ruben. “We wanted to create something that captures the raw energy and spirit of the metal and punk scenes that have influenced us so deeply.”
The band started off as a heavy hardcore band in 2014, but always had metal influences and within recent years, they’ve decided to further steer their music in that direction. Through N Through focuses on writing about the struggles they witness in their neighbourhood such as poverty, police brutality, gangs, corrupted street politics and more personal topics like domestic violence and addictions.
With this new direction of more traditional heavy metal influences, the band is writing in a style that resembles storytelling, after all what’s not metal about the neighbourhood that has influenced them?
