Yellowcard Peruse Bedroom Posters with Good Charlotte & Blippi

Pop punk act Yellowcard have once more collaborated with American educational YouTube star Blippi. Previously it was for ‘Go Go Go’ and now they’ve revamped their ‘Bedroom Posters’ hit as a duet.

The tune has been reworked with a fresh and family-friendly perspective, flipping lyrics to a kid-friendly take, with Blippi soaring with the band on a sky-high chant alongside other aspects that might only be meaningful if you’re knee-high to a grasshopper.

Regardless, it’s been touted as the ultimate pop-punk anthem for the kids and mum and dad.

“My favourite part about this process was handing over an instrumental version of ‘Bedroom Posters’ to the Blippi team and letting them completely rewrite the lyrics,” said Yellowcard‘s Ryan Key. “I had the idea that this feature could be perfect because of the concept of posters on kids’ walls. I think they nailed it and this is hopefully going to inspire a generation of new little rockers!”

Commenting on the video he said: “It was so fun to make. I think it pushed us all out of our comfort zones a little, and at this stage of our career, that usually leads to an amazing outcome. For me, as a first-time dad of a two-year-old who is already showing signs of being very musical, I think this is going to be a really special way for him to connect with my music and see me doing what I love. I hope that energy is what other parents find when they are watching and listening to this with their kids.”

Blippi said, “Music is one of my favourite ways to play and collaborate, so teaming up with my friends in Yellowcard was a blast! We turned ‘Bedroom Posters’ into a version that kids and families can sing, dance and laugh along with. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”

Yellowcard‘s ‘Bedroom Posters’ has received millions of streams and views. The original appeared on their first new album in almost a decade, ‘Better Days’, and before the version with Blippi it became a radio single featuring Good Charlotte that landed at number five on the Alternative Radio Charts.

The aforementioned ‘Go Go Go’ collaboration saw Billboard praising how the track introduces pop-punk to a new generation just in time for Yellowcard‘s comeback.

‘Bedroom Posters’ is for anyone who holds memories of their hometown near and dear,” said Key. “Have you ever come back to visit your hometown and felt crushed by all the memories that led up to the day you left? Have you ever felt like settling down somewhere meant giving up your dream? If so, ‘Bedroom Posters’ is for you.”

Describing the Good Charlotte collaborative version he continued: “We all felt like ‘Bedroom Posters’ was a really special song when we were making the record. The power behind Joel’s vocals take it to an even more impactful place that can truly take you back to the bedroom where you fell in love with your favourite band for the first time.”

“GC and Yellowcard finally have a song together and it feels so right,” said Good Charlotte lead vocalist Joel Madden. “I love this band and this song and I’m so happy we got the GCXYC collab.”
