Engineer GARY LANGAN to discuss how Bohemian Rhapsody was created at The Music and Audio Show in London September 2018

Ahead of the Bryan Singer directed film “Bohemian Rhapsody” which follows the path of iconic rock band Queen and follows the journey that lead singer Freddie Mercury takes to inevitable super-stardom, the legendary English engineer, record producer, mixer and musician GARY LANGAN will offer unparalleled behind the scenes access into his experience of working on the creation of the famous eponymous track at this year’s Festival of Sound, The Music and Audio Show (28-30 September at the Novotel Conference Centre, Hammersmith, London).

Langan started started his career in music aged just eighteen when he worked as an assistant engineer at Sarm Studios (East) learning the craft of sound engineering from Gary Lyons and Mike Stone, whom he assisted on the Queen albums: A Night at the Opera,  A Day at the Races, and News of the World.

In 1983, Langan co-founded the ZTT label with Trevor Horn, Paul Morley and Jill Sinclair. He was also a founding member of the avant-garde synthpop group Art of Noise, which he departed in 1986. Langan co-produced Public Image Ltd’s 1987 album Happy? And in 2008, Langan produced the ABC album Traffic.

Over his years, he has worked with Malcolm McLaren, Spandau Ballet, Billy Idol, Natalie Imbruglia and many other household names.

At the Festival of Sound, The Music and Audio Show, Gary will be bringing 24 track masters from the studio to demonstrate how “Bohemian Rhapsody” which has fascinated and captivated generations, was created. He will showcase the three movements in which it was composed. Audiophiles are invited to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and attend the interactive seminar which takes place on 29th September at the event.

Bohemian Rhapsody is scheduled for release in the United States by 20th Century Fox on 2nd November 2018 and in the United Kingdom on 24th October 2018 in IMAX.
