The highly anticipated album Road from Alice Cooper is set to drop on August 25th, 2023 courtesy of earMUSIC. Fans can get a taste of what’s to come with the release of the first single, ‘I’m Alice’, which is available now.
Alice Cooper, a prominent figure in rock and entertainment history, has consistently challenged both himself and boundaries. In his latest album, he pays homage to the road with classic hard-rock tunes featuring eccentric characters and playful humour. Despite being an ultimate touring artist who performs up to 200 live shows annually, Alice remains unmatched in music and entertainment history – a fact that is only becoming more evident as time goes on.
“In the past, the show got reviewed before the music did,” explains Alice. “We had hit #1 albums, but it was always about what we did on stage. For Road, I wanted the band to be involved in the foundation of all the songs. I only see these guys when we’re on the road. So, I wanted them to be as tight as they are for the show but on all new material. That’s what we did for this record. When you have a band this good, I believe in showing it off.”
Alice Cooper’s album Road embodies his traditional style, characterized by a combination of toughness and flair. The record features the talents of his long-standing touring bandmates—Ryan Roxie, Chuck Garric, Tommy Henrikson, Glen Sobel, and Nita Strauss—who bring their camaraderie and electrifying live performances to the table. Additionally, classic Alice producer Bob Ezrin is also on board for this project. Notably, Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine co-wrote ‘White Line Frankenstein,’ played guitar on it and contributed backing vocals.
Over the years, Alice has produced timeless anthems like ‘School’s Out,’ ‘No More Mr. Nice Guy,’ and ‘Poison.’ His music has sold over 50 million copies worldwide while influencing popular culture across generations. He has appeared in cult classics such as Wayne’s World and starred in Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert while collaborating with artists ranging from Salvador Dali to Ronnie Corbett. His influence extends beyond music into fashion where he inspired Sex Pistols to Lady Gaga as well as Bowie to heavy metal fans alike. Finally, don’t miss out on his upcoming tour with Hollywood Vampires starting July 5th in the UK!
“There’s no downtime for me at all,” Alice says. “I’ve got this album, this tour, Hollywood Vampires, and a whole lot more. Most guys my age want to rest and relax. I’ve never felt more up. Physically, I’m in as good of shape as I’ve ever been. I’m not looking for any way out. I’m not going retire, and I don’t want anyone to think I am. I’m at the top of my game right now.”
