Alice Cooper has revealed the special guest hosts who will join him on stage for each date of his intimate Devil on my Shoulder UK book tour this October.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee will be joined in conversation by three voices from the worlds of rock, radio and music journalism, each bringing their own connection to one of music’s most extraordinary lives. The tour launches on Sunday 11th October, following the publication of Devil on my Shoulder by Ebury Spotlight on 8th October 2026. Each evening features Alice Cooper in conversation with his guest, followed by an audience Q&A.
Fellow theatrical pioneer Arthur Brown takes four dates. The God of Hellfire, whose 1968 classic ‘Fire’ remains one of rock’s most incendiary moments, is a natural fit for an artist who built his own empire of spectacle. “In an age of increasingly visual and theatrical live performance, Alice Cooper feels more relevant than ever, a true pioneer,” said Brown. “There are few artists more important to witness and learn from. I’m thrilled and honoured to be moderating this conversation.”
Absolute Radio and Greatest Hits Radio presenter Claire Sturgess hosts three nights, opening the tour in Cardiff before Cambridge and Manchester. “I first met Alice at the start of my radio career in the early ’90s in Phoenix, Arizona, I was completely in awe,” she said. “So I’m genuinely thrilled to be spending more time with him here in the UK to talk about his new autobiography, and maybe finally uncover the truth behind some of those legendary stories.”
Veteran music journalist Billy Sloan takes the Glasgow date in his home town. “I’ve interviewed Alice maybe a dozen times. The first time I saw him was at Greens Playhouse, 10 November 1972, a gig that’s gone into Scottish rock folklore as one of the most amazing shows we’ve ever seen in Glasgow,” he said. “I still have the ticket stub and it was 90p. I’ve been a fan ever since.”
Devil on my Shoulder is billed as the definitive memoir from one of music’s most iconic artists. Across six decades it gathers witty, intimate anecdotes featuring everyone from Salvador Dalí, John Lennon and Groucho Marx to Vincent Price, Frank Sinatra, Jimi Hendrix and Andy Warhol, while doubling as an acute account of dysfunction and despair, wildness and criminality, addiction and human goodness. Alice Cooper tells it from both sides: the murderous theatrical character who once threatened the moral fibre of the western world, and Vincent Damon Furnier, the sober pastor’s son who has been happily married for 50 years. As he puts it: “I’ve lived my life with an angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other. Welcome to my nightmare.”
