Vocalist Gary John Barden has a new single out in ‘Empowered Emotions’, the title track from his new album, due out on 18th September through Frontiers Music Srl.
“‘Empowered Emotions’ takes you on a journey straight into my imagination,” said Barden. “It begins with the haunting sound of a Native American flute, a lone wolf calling in the darkness, an authentic chant, and Vossy‘s opening chords, transporting you into the world inside my head.
“I was incredibly fortunate to have my old friend Don Airey join us on this track. We’ve known each other since 1979, from the days of ‘Cry For The Nations’, and through many collaborations with Michael Voss, the Silver albums, and my solo work, so having Don bring his magic to this song means a great deal.”
Talking further about working with Voss, Barden continued: “Empowered Emotions is a very special record for both Michael and me. This album marks 25 years of writing, creating, and sharing music together, and every song carries its own story and meaning.
“It has truly been a labour of love from start to finish. We’re incredibly grateful to Frontiers Music for their belief in us and for giving us the opportunity to bring this project to life. We can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve created and celebrate this milestone with all the rock fans who have supported us over the years.
“I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it. I can already hear it echoing around the beer cellars!” he added.
Barden has sung with the likes of the Michael Schenker Group, Praying Mantis, Statetrooper and Silver, among others, with Schenker featuring on the album, as do Brian Tichy, Barry Sparks, Tommy Denander and others.
Empowered Emotions is available to pre-order now.
