Born To Rock is out from Von Groove, as are the hard rocking band’s latest singles, the most recent being ‘Undefeated’, all on the Frontiers Music Srl label.
“‘Undefeated’ is the story of relentless persistence. Always rising to the challenge and never giving up. Defeat is not an option. Every day we step into that ring and face the enemy head-on and come out swinging,” said drummer/vocalist Michael Shotton about the third single from the album. “‘Undefeated’ rocks as only Von Groove can. Warning: don’t listen to this while driving on the highway!”
Founded in 1990, the band released a self-titled debut in 1992, produced by Richie Zito and featuring future Journey drummer Deen Castronovo as a session musician. Mission Man (aka Chameleon in Europe), Test Of Faith and The Seventh Day would all follow, until the band went on hiatus in 2001, with the members continuing to perform, just separately.
Now, over 20 years later, Canadian rock band Von Groove have reunited under their classic lineup of Mladen on guitars, Michael Shotton on drums and vocals, and Matthew Gerrard on bass.
Opening title track ‘Born To Rock’ was released as their first new single, followed by ‘Fearless’, regarding which guitarist Mladen commented: “‘Fearless’ is a battle cry. It’s about refusing to back down, trusting your instincts, and stepping into your power. This song is classic Von Groove, big riffs, big hooks, and a message that hits you straight in the chest.”
He continued, “We wrote ‘Fearless’ as a reminder to ourselves and to our fans that the only way forward is with courage. When life knocks you down, you get back up and you keep on fighting.”
The Born To Rock album features the tracks ‘Born To Rock’, ‘Fearless’, ‘Champion’, ‘Adrenaline’, ‘Angela’, ‘Undefeated’, ‘Do It All Over Again’, ‘Heart Of Forgiveness’, ‘Dreams’, ‘Waiting For The Sky To Fall’ and ‘Always Endlessly’.
