The Darkness have announced Feeder as special guests on their December UK arena tour, completing an all-British bill alongside alternative rockers A.
The seven-date run is the band’s largest headline tour in two decades. It opens at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on 8 December and finishes with The Darkness‘ debut headline show at The O2 in London on 16 December.
Justin Hawkins clearly hasn’t forgotten an old television rivalry: “Feeder have agreed to join the bill for our arena tour and we are OVER THE MOON! Eagle eyed television enthusiasts will remember the legendary episode of Bargain Hunt when Frankie and I made more money than expected on a tin bath and condemned them to defeat… I still have my Bargain Hunt wind cheater but I promise not to wear it side stage during their set to taunt them.”
Feeder frontman Grant Nicholas added that the band will play songs exclusively from their reissued debut album Polythene.
Ahead of the tour, The Darkness release Crock of Hits, their first personally curated best of, on 27 November via Warner Music. It draws on all eight studio albums, from 2003’s Permission To Land through to 2025’s Dreams On Toast, which reached No.2 in the UK. It also includes ‘Christmas Time (Don’t Let The Bells End)’. The extended editions add live tracks, radio sessions and a new version of ‘Masters Of The Universe’ featuring Brian May.
A Feeder set made up entirely of Polythene songs is a treat on its own, and with A opening, this is one of the strongest British rock bills of the year. We can’t wait to see Justin Hawkins finally headline The O2.
