George Sanders & The Parallels Hang-out at the Hope Hotel

Hope Hotel is the debut EP from Southend-On-Sea’s indy band George Sanders And The Parallels and it will be released on 15th September.

With lyrics drawing on the excitement of exploring new relationships and the pain of knowing when they’re over, the five track EP is said to feature “punchy drumbeats, winding basslines and weapons-grade guitar solos, with catchy vocals lines you can’t help but sing along to.”

George Sanders And The Parallels is a four piece rock band born out of the south east of England in 2020. The band is fronted by George Sanders who also plays guitar, Dylan Stubbings on drums, Matt Latter on bass and Tom Carey on guitar.

Chosen as one of BBC Introducing’s Top Picks of 2022, they were described as “arena ready”, they’ve also appeared on various other radio stations, signed with Bread & Butter Records/Golden Robot Records in 2022 and released a couple of singles prior to the new EP.

With July release ‘What’s On Your Mind? the band began to embark on an inspiring initiative to address environmental concerns and that’s to continue with Hope Hotel.

George Sanders and the Parallels teamed up with Ecologi, and for each follow they receive on Spotify, the band commits to planting tree saplings in areas affected by deforestation caused by various factors, including global temperature rises and rising sea levels. The primary goal of this initiative is to offset the amount of CO2 being emitted into the atmosphere.

By partnering with Ecologi, individuals and companies can track the progress of their contributions. So far, George Sanders and the Parallels have successfully offset a quarter of a ton of CO2 and aim to significantly increase this number as they gain popularity as a band. Their dedication to both music and environmental sustainability sets a positive example for others in the industry.

The band’s debut single ‘Tired’ was released back in Spring. It features raw, raspy vocals, heavy hitting guitars and drums building to a climactic ending, all born from a single piano key at the start of the song. The lyrics share the story of a relationship in its last stages, the lyrics are from the heart and will tell a familiar tale to many listeners.
