Joanne Shaw Taylor in Trouble With Love

British blues-rock artist Joanne Shaw Taylor has announced her new studio album The Trouble With Love, produced by Kevin Shirley and set for release 23rd October via Journeyman Records.

The new ten-track album dives headfirst into the beautiful chaos of the human heart, blending blues, rock, and soul-soaked pop to explore the many forms love takes in our lives. To mark the announcement, Joanne has shared the latest single ‘This Is Who I Am’, a reinterpretation of Celeste’s song originally hand-picked for the spy thriller TV series The Day of the Jackal. Kevin Shirley brought the cover to the sessions, and Joanne‘s expressive vocals and passionate guitar solo turn it into a quietly defiant moment of clarity at the heart of the album.

‘This Is Who I Am’ follows a run of singles that have steadily opened the door into the world of The Trouble With Love. The fiery title track features Joe Bonamassa and captures the push and pull of love in all its intensity, while ‘What Good Is My Love?’ features Orianthi and explores the pain of love unreturned. ‘Hell Or High Water’ brings a defiant blues-gospel charge to the fight for resilience and self-belief.

The album builds on the momentum of Joanne‘s critically acclaimed Black & Gold, which we really like at RAMzine and which drew widespread praise from across the board on release.

Joanne said: “Kevin brought this cover of Celeste’s beautiful song to the table. It’s such a beautifully written track, for me about acceptance and self-love. I hope we’ve done it justice.”

The announcement arrives amid another busy touring season. Following her spring U.S. headline tour and upcoming European festival dates, including Blues Peer Festival (Belgium, 23rd May), International Blues Festival Schöppingen (Germany, 24th May) and Ribs & Blues Festival (Netherlands, 25th May), she will hit the road this summer for a new run of U.S. dates beginning 27th June at the San Jose Fountain Blues & Brews Festival.

The Trouble With Love tracklist: ‘The Trouble With Love’ feat. Joe Bonamassa, ‘Hell Or High Water’, ‘This Is Who I Am’, ‘Tired Of Being Right’, ‘Bad Boy’, ‘What Good Is My Love?’ feat. Orianthi, ‘The Girl That You Loved Before’, ‘Never Gonna Please ‘Em All’, ‘You And Me (Rachel’s Song)’, ‘Death Wish’.

The Trouble With Love is out 23rd October via Journeyman Records and available on CD, 180-gram dusty rose LP and digital.
