Following the success of his 2013 Unstoppable Momentum tour, guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani will be returning to the UK for a nine date tour this November, in support of Shockwave, his new studio album that is due this July.
The biggest-selling instrumental rock guitarist of all time, having sold more than 10 million copies worldwide to date, Joe Satriani has been playing to sold-out crowds as both a headliner and as founder of the all-star G3 guitar extravaganza for two decades. Of his many solo albums, two have gone platinum and four others went gold, with 15 Grammy nominations between them.
In addition to Surfing With The Alien and Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards, Satriani has released such classics as The Extremist (1992), Crystal Planet (1998) and Super Colossal (2006), while his ballad ‘Always With Me, Always With You’ was sampled by hip-hop artist and American Idol judge Nicki Minaj for her ‘Gold’ single and in 2011 he recreated his National Anthem performance for the Opening Day of the Oakland A’s historic 2002 season in the Brad Pitt movie Moneyball. In recent years he also became a co-found of the hit album supergroup Chickenfoot, alongside singer Sammy Hagar, bassist Michael Anthony (Van Halen) and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers).
The band for Joe Satriani’s upcoming Shockwave UK dates will be Bryan Beller (bass), Mike Keneally (keys, guitar) and Marco Minnemann (drums). There will be support for all the shows and they will start at 7.30pm.
