Kris Barras Band announce Monsters We Made

Devon-based hard rock heavyweights Kris Barras Band have announced their first UK tour in almost two years, alongside a new album Monsters We Made, out 14th August via Earache Records.

The Monsters We Made tour will see KBB joined by special guests 10 Years, the Knoxville, Tennessee melodic alternative metal act whose trademark sound has dominated US rock radio for decades. Last seen in the UK supporting Three Days Grace in 2022, 10 Years arrive on these shores after a US run with Mammoth and a European stint with Black Stone Cherry.

Kris Barras said: “We are absolutely honoured to have 10 Years out with us on this run, great band, amazing songs, you are all in for a treat.”

The tour calls at Southampton’s The 1865 (7th October), Nottingham Rescue Rooms (8th), Glasgow The Garage (9th), Hull Welly (10th), Cambridge Mash (11th), London The Garage (13th), Manchester Club Academy (14th), Wolverhampton KK’s Steel Mill (15th) and Torquay The Foundry (16th).

Monsters We Made arrives as Barras‘s response to his 2024 album Halo Effect, which reached the UK top 5 alongside Beyoncé and Linkin Park while topping the official UK Rock/Metal, Independent and Download charts. By Barras‘s own admission, Halo Effect perhaps landed as an over-adjustment with his core fans as he absorbed the influence of modern metal and a resurgent nu-metal scene. Monsters We Made is his answer to that.

“We wanted big singalongs, big riffs, big solos,” he said. “The kind of hard rock music that belongs in arenas; dense, complex and able to energise the biggest crowds.” Produced by guitarist and keyboardist Josiah Manning, the album spans eleven tracks including the title track, which Barras says features “one of the best choruses I’ve ever written,” and an epic ballad in ‘Otherside’.

Earlier this year KBB toured Europe with the Smith/Kotzen project featuring Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden and Richie Kotzen of Poison, Mr. Big and The Winery Dogs. The opportunity turned into an almost career-ending nightmare when Barras, pushing through illness on tour, did near-irreparable harm to his vocal cords. “With intensive rehab I’m all healed up and singing better than ever,” he says.

Monsters We Made is out 14th August via Earache Records.
