Kris Barras Band have officially announced their return with the upcoming album Monsters We Made, slated for release on August 14 2026 via Earache Records. Hot on the heels of the lead single ‘All Falls Down’, the Devon quartet has dropped a fiercely combative new track titled ‘Riot Of One’.
This new single is loud, pounding and absolutely badass. It is a beefy track that gets you ready to be a bad motherfucker. Complete with an epic guitar solo, our ears desperately needed this today!
The accompanying music video places the frontman squarely back in his element inside an MMA cage. However, the song carries a much deeper resonance than just a nod to his former fighting career. Barras describes it as a defiant anthem about facing the world alone and refusing to stay down. The track was born from a riff by guitarist Josiah Manning with the explicit goal of creating a massive singalong.
Following the polarising success of 2024’s Halo Effect, which saw the band experiment heavily with modern metal textures, Monsters We Made feels like a welcome course correction. Barras openly admits that their previous effort might have alienated some core fans. Now, they are aiming straight for the arenas. This new record promises massive riffs, intricate solos and the kind of unapologetic hard rock that naturally draws comparisons to Black Stone Cherry and Shinedown.
Tragically, the creative process for this album was shaped by profound personal loss following the passing of his mother. This grief seemingly stripped away outside expectations, leaving behind a pure and uncompromised vision. Barras proudly declares that the new album embraces his love for complicated guitar solos without letting them overshadow the emotional weight of the songwriting.
From the colossal title track ‘Monsters We Made’ to the emotionally charged ballad ‘Otherside’, this eleven track collection looks set to bridge the gap between their blues rock origins and their heavier modern sound. If ‘Riot Of One’ is any indication, Kris Barras Band are stepping into their defining era with absolute confidence.
