Out now, Transition II, from Lunatic Soul on the Kscope label, first featured as a track back in 2020 on a limited CD edition of Through Shaded Woods but in an edited format, since the nearly 28 minute original was too long to be included on the original vinyl pressing.
Reshaped by Mariusz Duda, ‘Transition II‘ is now a new 23-minute suite designed to fit a single side of vinyl, also featuring versions of ‘Hylophobia‘ and ‘Vyraj‘, both originally recorded for the Through Shaded Woods sessions, remixed from the ground up. The album also includes a new piece, ‘Realm of the Weeping Willows‘, that, while taking shape during those original sessions, was not completed until the beginning of 2026.
Presented from an intriguing, instrumental perspective, reminiscent of the early Lunatic Soul albums, Duda commented: “This is an album that arrives at the perfect moment.
“One might ask, why now? Why return to this composition and release it again only at this point?
“Because Lunatic Soul is changing,” he remarked, “after completing the eight albums that make up the dark cycle ‘The Circle of Life and Death’, Lunatic Soul is transforming into a project where more musical light and hope will begin to emerge. And Transition II, as a release, already contains these brighter elements and exists precisely between the old and the new.”
Transition II is available on olive green vinyl LP, black vinyl LP, CD with a 12 page booklet, and digitally.
