Madam Mayhem ‘Survived The Monster’, and it’s the band’s latest single, taken from the new studio album Headcase, which is due for release in Europe via Metalville later in November.
“The monster isn’t necessarily one person or one experience,” said Madam Mayhem. “It represents everything that has tried to break you: betrayal, disappointment, complicated relationships and the emotional toll of trying to survive.
“There’s a difference between defeating something and surviving it. Survival doesn’t mean walking away untouched. You can still carry the scars, anger, and hurt. The victory is realising that whatever you went through didn’t destroy you. ‘Survived The Monster’ is that moment of finally being able to look back and say, ‘Wow. I made it through that.’”
Madam Mayhem’s previous single was ‘Drag Me Back’, and it is about those moments when we become our own worst enemy, getting caught up in our thoughts and struggling to find a way forward. It’s also about recognising that cry for help within yourself and finding the strength to pull yourself out of a dark place.
Led by vocalist Madam Mayhem herself, the band also features guitarist Jared Cannata, bass player Percy Trayanov and drummer Jason ‘JBomb’ Harrison.
The New York-based hard rock band’s music has often explored personal experiences alongside the realities of working in the music industry. Those themes come together on the new album. In fact, Headcase is said to be about survival in all its messy forms.
