Due to appear at the Northants Rocks Festival on 25th July, London metalcore outfit Metasoma have shed their hard-rock veneer to emerge as a lethal, technical heavy metal machine. New EP, Core, signifies this change as the band unites British rhythmic weight with a Polish and Romanian underground metal heritage.
The EP is due 2nd August, while out now is the music video for ‘Omen’, taken from Core.
“‘Omen’ offers a taste of the evolution of our new sound, while also serving as a collage of sounds that portray the chaos we are living through as a society, particularly war and everything that comes with it,” declared the band.
Metasoma is a battle-tested collective featuring Vlad Iancu (vocals), Michal Sedzielewski and Artur Wojcik (guitars), Bolo (bass) and Joe Patterson (drums). Live, they’ve supported the likes of Vader, Sanctuary and Illusion, headlined The Underworld in London and commanded the number one slot on Hard Rock Hell Radio.
Tracks featured on Core are: ‘Downfall’, ‘Attic’, ‘Omen’, ‘Shock’ and ‘Horizon’.
The band said of the EP’s tracks: “There is a specific kind of numbness that comes when unfortunate events happen in quick succession; these songs are our way of fighting that anaesthesia. Whether we are digging through the attic of mixed childhood memories or scattering the ashes of a toxic relationship, the goal is the same: to learn from the mistakes of our forefathers and do better. We’ve turned these struggles into sonic paintings, but we leave the final interpretation to the listener’s own sensitivity.”
