South East alt metal band One Last Day have announced their debut album, Echoes In The Silence, set for release on 23 October 2026, and shared new single ‘Hourglass’, which arrives with a lyric video (which you can watch below).
Across the album, One Last Day take on art and humanity’s struggle against the AI revolution, self-reflection and the things we internalise, and the cost of existence weighed against what we leave behind.
There are songs about how people’s experience of you carries on regardless of your own journey, about self-imprisonment and keeping the fire alive, and about the torment of not knowing how long we have. Running alongside those darker threads is real gratitude for the people who keep us safe, before the album closes on what the band call “a good bit of dystopian realisation”.
It is an ambitious set of themes for a first full-length record, and we love seeing a homegrown band swing this big on a debut. If ‘Hourglass’ is anything to go by, alt metal fans in the South East have a lot to look forward to.
Echoes In The Silence by One Last Day is released on 23 October 2026.
