Phil Campbell Honoured At Hella Rock Festival

Hella Rock Festival returns on September 5 2026 with a powerful and deeply personal announcement, confirming Phil Campbell’s Bastard Sons as the official headliners.

The appearance carries immense significance. Legendary Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell was originally scheduled to headline before his tragic passing in March of this year. Now, his sons Dane, Todd and Tyla will take to the stage to honour his legacy, delivering a high energy tribute to his work in what promises to be one of the most unforgettable and emotional moments in the history of the festival.

Working closely with his family and management, organizers are ensuring this full throttle tribute is done right. Fans will have the chance to pay their respects with his iconic guitar rig on display, a memorial book open for stories and original backdrops from past tours showcased throughout the venue.

Festival director James Pilling explained the weight of the upcoming event, stating: “We knew straight away this year had to mean more. Losing Phil Campbell hit the whole rock community hard, and we have worked closely with his family to make sure this is done right. Having his sons headline as Phil Campbell’s Bastard Sons, alongside having Phil’s rig on display and backdrops from previous tours around the venue, means this is not just another show. It is a celebration of his legacy, his music, and everything he stood for. This year is for Phil, and it is for all the Motörhead and PCATBS fans out there.”

We cannot think of a more fitting way to pay tribute. Phil Campbell was undeniably one of the greats, and to have his sons carry the torch at a grassroots festival is exactly the kind of beautiful thing the rock and metal community does best.
