The Pink Panther Project’s Chronicles

London-based industrial-electronic outfit Pink Panther Project return with their third single, ‘Pink Panther Chronicles’, from the band’s upcoming album which dives deeper into the world of dark dance and industrial music.

“We wanted to create something that would make people dance but also leave a lasting impression,” says Uela, the band’s vocalist and songwriter. “We think ‘Pink Panther Chronicles’ achieves that, and we’re excited to see how listeners react.”

It’s a pulsating dance anthem with a repetitive beat and Uela’s haunting vocals that evoke underground dance clubs’ atmosphere. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of a mysterious creature – the Pink Panther – lurking in the shadows.

Formed in London in 2023, Pink Panther Project is the brainchild of one Uela, whose voice reflects the band’s direction and expectations, a fundamental meeting between her lyrics, her interpretation, with the swirling omnipresent presence of the music. United by a desire to create something fresh and electrifying, the band with the addition of Alex K. and Ether Mu. quickly solidified their sound – a potent blend of EBM, industrial, and dance music with a touch of pop.

“The basic concept was to create something fun and new, special,” said Uela. “We wanted to make a varied record, with danceable and melodic songs, a little crazy if you like, and we succeeded.”

Regarding the band’s name, Uela explained: “The name recalls the world of cartoons perhaps but it’s a coincidence, a joke, in reality pink is a colour very dear to me and I certainly feel like a panther or an eagle, some don’t find it dark enough, but we are not “dark enough”.

Intoxicating Embrace is also the title of their debut double album, scheduled to be released on 16 September 2024 via Marian Whores and The Circle Music. Previously, ‘Morticia Addams’ slithered onto the scene as their debut single, a gothic dancefloor-igniting anthem inspired by the iconic Addams Family character.

Second single ‘Intoxicating Embrace’ marked a departure from ‘Morticia Addams’. The track opens the album and explores a more introspective and melodic territory, showcasing the ethereal vocals of Uela against a backdrop of haunting electronic soundscapes. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of lost love, with the poignant line “I’ll be the centrepiece at the market fair, but no one will see the love we used to share” resonating deeply.
