Out now is Exolvuntur, the second full-length album from Polish metal act Piołun, via Malignant Voices.
The album follows Piołun‘s 2022 debut Rzeki Goryczy, where 90s-era homegrown and Scandinavian black metal was an influence, but this time around they’re incorporating a refined, contemporary edge.
“Stylistically, it is a continuation of the preceding Rzeki Goryczy; however, it presents black metal that is more dynamic and melodic,” said the band’s founder, Sorh, who’s also known as XCIII, guitarist with Blaze Of Perdition, Oremus and Mānbryne.
“The album’s concept revolves around the cycle of life and death, referring to human transience in the face of ruthless nature. Exolvuntur is a 37-minute journey where the wildness of traditional black metal intertwines with nostalgia and melancholy. Black metal for black metal fans,” he continued.
With production handled by Haldor Grunberg at Satanic Audio, Exolvuntur is available on CD, LP and digitally, along with T-shirts, and can be ordered worldwide.
Exolvuntur features the tracks: ‘Manifest Kresu’, ‘Sierpniowy Brzask’, ‘Czas’, ‘Koło Życia’, ‘Moribunda’, ‘Próba Sznura’ and ‘Hiems’.
