Randy Edelman Reflects on Green Park

Randy Edelman returns with Green Park, a deeply personal new collection of original compositions inspired by one of London’s most cherished public spaces. The album is out via Cherry Red Records on September 29.

The award winning composer and songwriter is best known for iconic film scores like The Last Of The Mohicans, Gettysburg, and Ghostbusters II. Randy Edelman has spent over five decades creating music that has become woven into popular culture. With Green Park, he turns his attention to a more intimate and reflective work.

The album comprises ten original pieces inspired by memories and observations connected to the central London park. Blending his gift for melody with a cinematic sense of storytelling, the record evokes themes of nostalgia, resilience, and serenity.

“This disc is what may perhaps be considered a love letter to a place where I have spent some of my most treasured years on the planet,” Randy Edelman explains. “Whether viewed from a certain oft visited room in a British establishment or experienced during countless walks through its paths in every season, Green Park has continually given me a fresh look at life.”

He adds that when he finally sat down to write, the music emerged in a style suggesting a completely different era. He notes he does not truly know why but the inspiration took hold.

Green Park features songs including ‘After All The Madness‘, ‘Watching And Wishing‘, ‘Farewell To Down St.‘, ‘Paranoid Partner 12 Steps (Serenity Prayer)‘, ‘Flyin’ Blind‘, ‘Piano Please‘, ‘To Find You‘, and ‘Short Walk In Green Park‘.

Written, arranged, and produced by Randy Edelman, the album features Trey Henry on bass, Grant Geissman on guitar, Brian Scanlon on saxophone, Susan Winsberg on flute, and Till Richter on drums. It was engineered by Jill Tengan in Los Angeles, with two tracks mixed at Abbey Road Studios in London by Freddie Light.

The result is a warm collection combining his melodic songwriting with distinguished performances. Alongside the release, Randy Edelman continues to perform internationally. His upcoming appearances include dates across the United Kingdom, culminating in a return to Carnegie Hall in New York in December 2026.
