RØRY shares Strange video from new album

RØRY has shared an official video for new single ‘Strange’, the latest taste of her second album Bloodletting, due 4 September via Sadcøre Records.

The clip returns the alternative artist to a rooftop, deliberately echoing one of her older videos but, as she puts it, coming back to it from a place that feels far more alive. ‘Strange’ itself is a reflective piece about resilience, gratitude and choosing to keep going.

Bloodletting marks a notable shift. Where RØRY had long found it easy to write about sadness, the new record digs into the emotions she had spent years avoiding: anger, resentment, even hatred, dragged into the open through therapy. The title borrows from the old medical practice of drawing blood to cure illness, reframed here as a kind of release.

Musically it is her heaviest and most ambitious work yet. Working again with longtime collaborators Kingdoms, with extra production and mixing from Dan Lancaster (Bring Me The Horizon, Muse), she took vocal lessons and learned to scream for the first time, reaching for something clean singing could not carry.

She describes the album bluntly: “I realised I was sick from being nice.” Years of being the bigger person, she says, had left her disconnected from huge parts of herself, and Bloodletting became the act of reclaiming them.

The thirteen track album gathers recent singles ‘Degradation’, ‘Dead Girl Walking’, ‘Kids These Days’ and ‘Strange’ alongside new material.

The release also caught RØRY at a milestone, making her main stage debut at Download Festival 2026, sharing the bill with headliners Limp Bizkit, Guns N’ Roses and Linkin Park. Having watched the weekend unfold up close, we can vouch for the appetite at Donington for exactly this kind of raw, emotionally direct writing, and Bloodletting sounds built to feed it.
