In the rock music domain the tendency seems to emphasis when a band is “female fronted”; the blues world it is different as there are so many fine blues outfits with females at the forefront so it, rightly, doesn’t matter what gender is at the front only that the music is high quality.
One of the most revered and exciting talents who happens to be female is the blues rock maven, Sari Schorr. In these testing times, Sari was supposed to be touring the UK , but like all of us, has found herself in lockdown in her home city of New York.
Using just her iPhone, Sari set about assembling some stark images to set to the song ‘Ordinary Life’ from the 2016 album, Force Of Nature. The result is an outstanding song given new meaning with today’s situation, illustrated with remarkable pictures of deserted streets and masked citizens.
