Three years after A Journey Told Through Fire, Norwegian band Sworn have released Null Crowned The Infinite.
It is the melodic black metal act’s fifth album, and a conceptual narrative tracing the cyclical nature of the cosmos runs through Null Crowned The Infinite. It was produced by Jens Bogren, features artwork by Pär Olofsson, and is available in various editions, including limited marbled vinyl, through The Circle Music.
Tracks featured on the album are: ‘The Starless Origin’, ‘Null Crowned The Infinite’, ‘A Cosmic Storm’, ‘Fracture Of Aeons’, ‘The Entropic Void’ and ‘Circle Of The Eternal’.
The music was written by Christoffer Kjørsvik, who plays guitars, bass and synthesisers, and he co-wrote the lyrics with vocalist Max Wilson, while Gøran Hope also played guitars and Tom Ian Klungland drummed.
From the album, ‘The Entropic Void’ has been released as a single, available across all major streaming services.
“The coldest and most eerie track of the album,” according to Sworn. “As it’s the second to last track, thematically this one is about the closure of the cosmos in the endless cycle of creation and unmaking.”
