The Cranberries mark the 33rd anniversary of their groundbreaking debut with a deluxe reissue of Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?, out 22nd May 2026 via Island/UMe. The album arrives in seven configurations packed with extra content.
The headline draws are completely new 2026 stereo mixes by original producer Stephen Street, track-by-track notes from the band, and art notes from original designer Cally Callomon and photographer Andy Earl. There’s also a dreamy remix of ‘Linger‘ by CHVRCHES’ Iain Cook, which Pitchfork called “so beautiful and vulnerable.” Two Spanish reinterpretations round things out, with Mexican artist Bratty taking on ‘Linger‘ and rising indie pop voice ANASOF reworking ‘Dreams‘.
Originally released on 1st March 1993, the record hit number one in both the UK and Ireland and has sold more than six million copies worldwide. It spawned two Top Ten singles in lead single ‘Dreams‘ and breakthrough follow-up ‘Linger‘, the songs that cemented the band’s place in the rock world. Built around the unmistakable voice of Dolores O’Riordan, whose passing in 2018 was felt across the music world, the album fused Gaelic, Catholic and indie influences with lyrics that captured the frustrations of late adolescence and gave the songs their lasting universal pull.
The legacy endures. In an April 2026 feature, Rolling Stone praised O’Riordan’s mournful voice, the languid guitar beauty and the upfront Celtic melancholy of ‘Linger‘, while Collider placed the album at number 11 in its ranking of the best rock albums of the 90s, calling the band one of the most original of the decade.
For many of us, this is the record that soundtracked a particular corner of the 90s, and a remaster this thorough is a fitting tribute to an album whose signature sound has never really been matched.
