The Futureheads’s Decent Days & Nights: The Singles Due

The Futureheads, celebrated as one of the most dynamic forces in UK indie rock, release Decent Days & Nights: The Singles on 29th November via Cherry Red Records. It will be the first time, fans can experience a comprehensive collection of the band’s most iconic tracks, newly mastered and available in both CD and 2LP formats.

It will feature 19 tracks, including seminal hits such as ‘The Beginning Of The Twist’, ‘Hounds Of Love’, ‘Decent Days And Nights’, ‘Struck Dumb’, and ‘Radio Heart’. This compilation not only showcases the band’s signature blend of angular guitars, intricate vocal harmonies, and exhilarating energy but also underscores their influence in shaping the sound of a generation.

Reflecting on the release, Barry Hyde said: “We are delighted to be working with Cherry Red to release this singles collection; they are a label we have admired for many years and this album feels like a landmark and crossing point in our time together as band. We are looking forward to hitting the road in 2025 to celebrate its release and will use the experience as a pivot point from which we can jump into new creative activities and move forward together as an artistic force.”

Ross Millard added: “Putting this singles collection together is really exciting for us as a band – it’s a chance to honour the records we’ve made and celebrate these songs with our fans. I know albums like this can serve as a portal for new audiences too – a collection of singles is a great entry-point to the band. We can’t wait to tour it in 2025 as well.

In addition to the music, Decent Days & Nights: The Singles offers a new insight into the band’s history with new sleeve notes and never-before-seen photographs, creating a vivid chronicle of the band’s evolution from their formation in Sunderland in 2000 to their critically acclaimed comeback with 2019’s Powers.

The Futureheads first electrified audiences with their 2004 self-titled debut album, that included the explosive cover of Kate Bush’s Hounds Of Love’ – a  track that not only earned them the NME Single of the Year but also solidified their place in the pantheon of British rock, subsequent albums including  News And Tributes (2006), This Is Not The World (2008), The Chaos (2010), and their a cappella release Rant (2012).

Decent Days & Nights: The Singles is not just a retrospective; it’s intended as a reaffirmation of the group’s enduring legacy and their ongoing impact on the music scene. Whether you’re a long-time fan or discovering them for the first time, this collection is a definitive statement of their journey so far.
