The Georgia Thunderbolts Rise Above It All

In the wake of their debut album amassing over 6 Million streams, The Georgia Thunderbolts return with brand new single, Rise Above It All, out today on all digital platforms, courtesy of Mascot Records.

This new anthem, steeped in the band’s signature blend of rock and roll, Southern rock, Americana, rock country, and raw, heartfelt energy, serves as an early taste of their eagerly awaited new studio album, due out this autumn.

“Alone we can do wonderful things. Together? We can reach immeasurable bounds,” commented vocalist TJ Lyle. “Be kind. Be courageous and even in the darkest of nights, always chase the light! There’s no limit to what we can achieve. Together we can and we will rise above it all.”

Hailing from Rome, Georgia, at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, The Georgia Thunderbolts has blazed a trail for a new generation of classic southern rock enthusiasts. Their sound, deeply rooted in soulful southern swagger, blistering blues, and raw rock, is reminiscent of the iconic rock ‘n’ roll legends that influenced their musical journey. Their eclectic inspirations span from southern gospel and Hank Williams to the grit of Ozzy Osbourne, the charm of Lynyrd Skynyrd and great Georgia singers like James Brown and Otis Redding.

It’s not just their music that captures the attention; their deep-rooted history in Rome, a town steeped in rich agricultural heritage, influences their lyrical narratives and showcases their authentic southern spirit.

Featuring TJ Lyle [vocals, harmonica, keyboards), Riley Couzzourt and Logan Tolbert (guitars), Zach Everett (bass, harmony vocals, keys) and Bristol Perry (drums), from their early days, the band has shared memorable moments on stage with musical titans such as Deep Purple, Blackberry Smoke, and Kentucky Headhunters.

Their debut album, as well as their new album, recorded at the Barrick Recording Studio in Glasgow, KY, is a testament to their dedication, passion, and commitment to rock ‘n’ roll. With tracks that blend anthemic guitar riffs, wild harmonica, and pulse-pounding drums, The Georgia Thunderbolts’ timeless sound, combined with a relentless work ethic and humility, position them as torchbearers t ensure the legacy of southern rock remains vibrant and relevant for generations to come.

Over the past few years, The Georgia Thunderbolts have carried their spirit of rock ‘n’ roll across numerous stages, performing alongside rock luminaries such as Black Stone Cherry joining them in the US and mainland Europe, The Marshall Tucker BandThe Outlaws, and Ace Frehley as well as country powerhouses The Cadillac Three, The Steel Woods and Southall. With their roots firmly planted in the southern tradition, Rolling Stone declared that The Georgia Thunderbolts are “proof that southern rock continues to thrive in the 21st century.”

New single Rise Above It All follows, Gonna Shine’, released at the tail-end of last year. Both tracks being a glimpse into what’s in store with their upcoming studio album. Drawing listeners into a realm where southern rock’s legacy is celebrated and pushed to new frontiers.
