The XCERTS Share New Single ‘rinse repeat’

The XCERTS have shared ‘rinse repeat’, the latest single ahead of their sixth album i think i want to go home now, out 10 July via FLG Records.

It is a song carrying real weight. Frontman Murray Macleod wrote it the day his father was diagnosed with cancer, and it marks the first time the band have deliberately reached back into their own catalogue, drawing a line to ‘Crisis In The Slow Lane’ from their 2009 debut. Both that debut and this new record were shaped in the aftermath of profound loss, the same emotional territory revisited fifteen years on and seen through older eyes. ‘rinse repeat’ is the band confronting that painful parallel head on.

There is something quietly devastating about an artist returning to the same wound a decade and a half later and finding new honesty in it. Rather than dress it up, The XCERTS have leaned into the rawness!

The single sets the tone for i think i want to go home now, the band’s sixth full-length, landing in July.

We have always admired The XCERTS for writing with their hearts fully on their sleeves, and ‘rinse repeat’ may be one of their most affecting moments to date.
