It’s Now & Never as Bywater Call Prepare for UK Tour

Somewhere up beyond the pouring rain are gentler white clouds, where Aretha and Dusty are sitting comfortably, wearing smiles, content they left a good impression on the earth below, for out now is ‘Now And Never’, the latest single from Canadian roots, rock, and soul band Bywater Call wherein lead singer Meghan Parnell is more than giving her all, just like those previous queens of soul did back in the day.

Starting off with a laidback funk beat it soon starts shooting a jazzy breeze; horns raising the temperature alongside Parnell’s voice soaring and swooping with deft conviction. It’s the latest number taken from the recently released third studio album Shepherd and it’s a good ‘un.

The album is available on CD, vinyl, and digital here and on all streaming platforms while you’re advised to check out the official music video for to ‘Now And Never’ here at RAMzine.

The video was filmed and edited by Gokul Chakravarthy (Uktopia Creations) over the course of a day in Washington, DC, where the band played at The Hamilton Live just steps away from the White House.

The song comes two weeks ahead of Bywater Call’s second Headline UK Tour that starts Wednesday 16th October and covers 11 cities. Tickets for all shows are available from the band’s website and the Gig Cartel.

The tour includes Planet Rock’s Blues Power Live event at Dingwall’in London’s Camden Market on Friday 25th October. Hosted and curated by blues maestro Bernard Doherty, the show will also feature performances from Bywater Call’s UK tour special guests Lauren Housley & The Northern Cowboys and These Wicked Rivers

‘Now and Never’ has been described by the band as a fun take on dysfunctional romantic relationships … those ones where you just keep running in circles and seem to just exist “Always, Now and Never” all at the same time.  “This song features some top-notch horn moments,” noted lead singer Meghan Parnell. “It’s quirky and sexy and celebratory all at once.”

Bywater Call were UK Blues Award nominated for International Blues Artist of the Yearalongside winners Larkin Poe. They have toured extensively in Europe where shows have been praised by media, with references to Parnell as one of the best female voices in blues and roots today.

The band has been busy. In 2024 alone, the band will have played their 100th show of the year in Belgium, on the first date of their upcoming European tour. In 2023 Bywater Call played Joe Bonamassa’s third Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea MediterraneanCruise and in 2025 the band will once again board to play the KTBA cruise, this time in March out of Miami, Florida.
