Takedown 2013

Takedown Twenty-Thirteen is one of the finest displays of great Rock and Metal music this spring. The one-day festival is located in the music hub that is Southampton, which itself is a place that seems to breed great bands – it is home to Bury Tomorrow, Our Time Down Here, Burn The Fleet, Natives, and countless more!

Death of an Artist hailing from just up the road – Bournemouth – will be at Takedown 2013. The post-hardcore band recently released album ‘X’, which has received great reviews from critics, including 4 Ks from Kerrang! (June 2012) who said “the impressively textured production and deft execution of the soft/heavy vocal dynamic ensure a breadth of sonic expression far beyond the lyrical”. See their video for ‘Wasted Time’ below.

If you are after some fresh pop-punk then look no further then The Hype Theory. They have just released their new single ‘Heartstick’ (video below). The band have been touring lots and are now set to release new album ‘Captives’ on 27th May!

Fearless Vampire Killers have taken the UK by storm, and are one of our top tips for 2013. They will be playing alongside one of their major influces at Takedown, The Defiled, who will be stopping off to play Takedown during their headline tour with Malifice and Breed 77, who will also be at Takedown.

Mallory Knox have just signed to Search and Destroy joining While She Sleeps, who are on the same label. Search & Destroy is a joint venture between Craig Jennings and Sony. The band are represented by Jennings’ management company Raw Power.

The headliners of Takedown are also due to appear on this years Reading and Leeds main stage: The Blackout! They have been busy this year: from releasing their new album  ‘Start the Party’, flying out to Ibiza to film their video for the first single from the new album ‘Start the Party’, to filming their second video ‘Running scared’, and then a 3rd video for ‘Radio’, they have not stopped.

If you have never seen The Blackout live, you are massively missing out! They are extremely energetic on stage, and are always a crowd pleaser. If you have seen them live before, I’m sure you already have your ticket! This years Takedown has an excellent line-up which showcases a range of well-established and up-and-coming bands! And all for the very cheap price of just £30!
