Ozzy & Black Sabbath’s Back To The Beginning Out in December

The final farewell of the Prince of Darkness is coming home. Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s Back To The Beginning, the soundtrack and film of the landmark Villa Park concert, will be released on 11th December 2026 on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, CD, 2LP vinyl and digital via Mercury Studios.

The news follows the film’s worldwide cinema release on 28th October, which saw it screened in more than 250 UK cinemas, and Ozzy’s ‘Mr. Crowley’ has been shared as a first taste of the soundtrack.

Held in Birmingham on 5th July 2025, Back To The Beginning was Ozzy’s last ever performance, just 17 days before his death. It also reunited him with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for the original Black Sabbath line-up’s first show together in more than 20 years, and their last. More than three million people requested the 44,000 tickets, and a record-breaking global audience watched live.

Hosted by Jason Momoa with Tom Morello as musical director, the day featured sets from Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Tool, Pantera, Alice In Chains, Gojira, Mastodon, Lamb Of God, Halestorm, Anthrax and Rival Sons. Alongside them were all-star appearances from the likes of Steven Tyler, Sammy Hagar, Ronnie Wood, Billy Corgan and Yungblud.

The three and a half hour Blu-ray captures highlights from the day, plus full sets from Ozzy and Black Sabbath, Jack Black performing ‘Mr. Crowley’ and Fred Durst performing ‘Changes’. Bonus features include a behind-the-scenes featurette, video tributes from Dolly Parton, AC/DC and Ricky Gervais, and the Sounds Of Birmingham documentary.

The soundtrack’s nine-song set runs from ‘I Don’t Know’ and ‘Crazy Train’ through to ‘War Pigs’, ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Paranoid’.

For collectors, a Deluxe Box Set follows on 23rd April 2027. It features all 35 songs from the day, including the special guests’ covers, across Blu-ray, CD and three heavyweight LPs, plus a 72-page hardback book with interviews from Sharon Osbourne, Tom Morello, Live Nation’s Andy Copping and production manager Jake Berry.

“Ozzy suffered from chronic pain during the final six years of his life. His only wish was to perform one last time to thank his fans and say goodbye,” said Sharon Osbourne, who oversaw the concert and executive produced the film.

For everyone who couldn’t be at Villa Park that day, this is the chance to share in a goodbye that meant so much to so many of us.
