Essex deathcore crew Beyond Extinction have released Three Swords, a four-track concept EP built around the darkest chapters of their home county’s history. They have also shared a video for ‘Skin Of The Beast’, filmed during their set at Bay Days Festival 2026.
Each song digs into a different horror. Lead single ‘Witchfinder’ looks at the witch trials that claimed far more lives in Essex than in Salem. ‘A Dark Sickness’ revisits the Black Plague, and ‘The Estuary’ explores the deadly waterways behind centuries of disappearances. ‘Skin Of The Beast’ focuses on ancient tribes cloaked in animal furs, emerging from the swamps.
“We are ecstatic to have Three Swords out in the world and to have stamped an Essex mark onto our discography that pays homage to the place that pushed our band to grow,” says vocalist Jasper Harmer. “To have congealed terror and fear within some of our most sharpened riff work yet is something we are very proud of. This EP is, as always, in memory of Zach Scott.”
The EP is their first new music since debut album Where They Gather, which landed at number 46 in Metal Hammer’s Top 50 Albums of 2025.
Beyond Extinction support Burner on a short run of dates, play a headline show on New Year’s Eve, and then co-headline the Cross Atlantic Death tour with Canada’s Salem Trials in March 2027.
