Metalcore fans, this one’s for you. Former Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones and guitarist and producer Adam Dutkiewicz have reunited in a brand new project, Burn Eternal, and the duo have signed to Metal Blade Records.
Both came up through New England’s underground, Jones with Blood Has Been Shed and Dutkiewicz with Aftershock before Killswitch Engage. Between 2002 and 2012 they made some of the genre’s defining records together. The End Of Heartache earned the band their first GRAMMY nomination and won Best Album at the 2004 Metal Hammer Golden Gods, while 2006’s platinum-selling As Daylight Dies is still Killswitch Engage’s best-selling album.
Burn Eternal has been a long time in the making, and the debut album is already finished.
“From an idea while having lunch in London to a completed album, this has been such a fun way to reconnect with my friend,” says Jones. “Burn Eternal lives!”
Dutkiewicz is just as excited. “I am wicked excited to finally be able to share my project with Howard with all of you! It feels great to be hanging with an old friend and making more music with him,” he says. “We’re just two goofballs just dicking around in the studio again.”
Metal Blade founder Brian Slagel is a fan too. “As a huge fan of both Howard and Adam, it is a huge honour to welcome Burn Eternal to the Metal Blade family! I am excited for everyone to hear the record!”
The first music from Burn Eternal is expected soon.
