Ten years ago, Boston Manor dropped a record that fundamentally shifted their trajectory. Be Nothing. arrived in 2016 via Pure Noise Records and instantly proved the Blackpool outfit were destined for greater things than the local pub circuit. Now, a decade later, the band is celebrating the milestone with a special anniversary reissue arriving on August 14th, alongside a massive UK and US tour where they will play the album in full for the very first time.
Looking back, Be Nothing. was the perfect blueprint. It spawned defining anthems like ‘Laika’, ‘Lead Feet’, and ‘Fossa’, showcasing a raw, alternative energy that paved the way for the innovative sound they champion today. Bassist Dan Cunniff reflects on the era with sheer gratitude, noting that the release gave them the confidence to truly become a real band. They poured everything into it, hoping the music would hold up ten years down the line. Spoiler alert: it absolutely does.
To sweeten the deal, the anniversary edition features brand new acoustic reworkings of classic tracks, including a fresh take on ‘Lead Feet’. Cunniff cites this song as a standout, remembering it as an early demo that taught them crucial lessons about songwriting and structure.
If you want to catch this nostalgia trip live, you will need to act fast. General tickets go on sale Friday, May 29th. The UK leg hits Gorilla in Manchester on December 7th and 8th, followed by The Garage in London on December 13th and 14th. This is an essential victory lap for an album that genuinely deserves the celebration.
