Imperial Age have returned with their first official video in four years, premiering ‘Gnosis’ on 5 June 2026 and confirming a 2026 main stage appearance at Bloodstock Open Air.
The single marks a deliberate hard turn for the band. Founders Jane and Aor built Imperial Age from the ground up in Russia, playing more than 200 shows across Europe and Britain and selling tens of thousands of albums with no label, agent or booking infrastructure behind them. After publicly condemning the invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the pair left the country, endured a year of legal limbo in Turkey, and were eventually granted UK residency under Arts Council England’s “Exceptional Talent” route.
Now settled in Northamptonshire and rebuilt around a new lineup of British musicians (plus one Italian), the band have rewired their sound. Where earlier Imperial Age leaned on soaring symphonic metal, ‘Gnosis’ brings in extreme vocals, breakdowns, ferocious tempos and ultra low tunings, a darker and heavier identity than anything in their catalogue so far. The video was produced by Loki Films, the team behind era defining visuals for Sleep Token and Lorna Shore, and shot at a storied English location.
