Take One Step with Linx

Joan Jett’s rock and roll vibes with goth elements and inspired by an event in LA, that’s Female-fronted Industrial-Rock duo Linx‘s new single ‘One Step’ that’s out now.

The song is about chasing a crush while catching deams and goals to impress and to feel good in our own skin. A fun catchy song composed by the duo’s drummer during New Year’s Rve starting with synth, and the front women taking over while taking a train to San Diego after her Los Angeles trip, inspired by her journey.

Formed in Montreal, Canada by versatile singer, guitarist, bassist and keyboardist Zenab Jaber (nicknamed Zee), and drummer, keyboardist and programmer Frederic Gauthier, their music is described as a groovy, heavy, moody, poetic, electric and powerful blend of pure originality and influences in genres such as metal, prog, rock, Industrial, cultural and soundtracks.

Linx‘s debut album, Annihilation was reset for a 10th October wordwide release through Metalville Records. Despite the wait, assorted singles have surfaced already – Before ‘One Step’ was ‘Love Virus‘, and as with the others you can check out the videos here at RAMzine.

Love, construction, annihilation – The action of one is the result of the other, but also contagious actions. What are we taking back? What do we need or trust? ‘Love Virus’ in its industrial music elements and metal growls is composed and produced by drummer of the band, Frederic Gauthier, and written by front woman Zenab Jaber.

Linx‘s raw charisma and hypnotic stage presence, combined with the sheer power of their sound, are already building a devoted fan base and a formidable reputation. Their 13-track debut album, Annihilation, is said to be bold, expansive, and electrifying, with lyrics that are smart, introspective, and, at times, pure poetry.

A self-taught musician and songwriter, Zee is also the ex-bass player of Toronto based punk band The Anti-Queens. Her influences range from movie soundtracks, classic music, grunge, metal, and alternative rock, with each genre leaving its mark on her compositions. Her Middle Eastern background adds a unique depth to her work, blending cultural elements seamlessly with her diverse musical taste.

An actress, a filmmaker, a certified IATSE lightning tech and stage rigger, who has been featured and worked on productions such as Jack Ryan, Transformers: Rise Of the Beasts, Scream VI, Seaside, and La Recette Du Bonheur

She also creates and directs Linx’s videos (‘Crystal Jellyfish’, ‘Dream Watcher’, ‘One Step’, ‘Dead’). A free spirit who enjoys traveling, challenges, working hard, and hates routine.

Frederic Gauthier is a music college graduate and a master at creating new sounds and sonic textures. He was part of the Rock N Road Drummer TV show 2008, and a touring live drummer for bands such as DOT and Projekt F. A creative force with great work ethics, apparently.

Annihilation will feature the tracks: ‘The Prey’, ‘The Hunter’, ‘Crystal Jellyfish’, ‘Lost In Between’, ‘Li3’, ‘Periodic Dance’, ‘Fox N’ Crow’, ‘Dream Watcher’, ‘Dead’, ‘One Step’, ‘Love Virus’, ‘Them’ and ‘11.13’.

Previously, the band released the singles ‘Them’ and ‘Dead’, the latter a rock-alternative song with a heavy edge and fun energy. It’s about reviving emotions after coping with numbness and embracing the good things that make us grateful. The track blends heavy riffs with punk rock elements. Part of the upcoming album’s concept and inspired by personal experiences, the music video premiere will mark the long awaited debut, perfectly introducing the band. This track embodies power, unity, and gratitude, welcoming listeners across various shades of rock.
