Seven Minutes From Sunset for Redemption

Five years since their much seventh studio album, Long Night’s Journey Into Day, Los Angeles-based progressive metal band Redemption has released a brand new album in I Am The Storm , via AFM Records.

Following the release of the title track as a single, then ‘Remember The Dawn’, they’ve brought out ‘Seven Minutes From Sunset’ as their latest single, nd you can check out the videos for them here at RAMzine.

Redemption formed in Los Angeles, California in 2000 by guitarist, keyboardist and songwriter Nicolas van Dyk, the band featuring vocalist Thomas England of Evergrey, the rhythm section of Chris Quirarte (drums) and bassist Sean Andrews, as well as keyboard player Vikram Shankar.

I Am The Storm was produced by Nick van Dyk and sound engineer/guitarist Simone Mularoni (DGM), who – alongside Chris Poland (ex-Megadeth) and Henrik Danhage (Evergrey) – will be also featured as a guest musician on the album.

The new Redemption record also contains two cover songs, ‘Turn It On Again’ by Genesis and ‘Red Rain’ by Peter Gabriel.

In full, the album features the tracks: ‘I Am The Storm’, ‘Seven Minutes From Sunset’, ‘Remember The Dawn’, ‘The Emotional Depiction Of Light’, ‘Resilience’, ‘Action At A Distance’, ‘Turn It On Again’, ‘All This Time (And Not Enough)’, ‘The Emotional Depiction Of Light (Remix)’ and ‘Red Rain’, with vinyl edition bonus tracks: ‘The Pearl Clutchers’ featuring Chris Poland and ‘The Far Side Of The Clouds’ featuring Henrik Danhage.

The album can be ordered here and the singles released are available on all digital platforms here.

“The life of a human being is many things, among them an ongoing stream of challenges and opportunities. We choose to face them with enthusiasm or indifference, with resistance or resignation,” said band member Nicolas van Dyk, regarding the title track, and first single. “Sometimes we pick our battles, knowing when to push and when to acquiesce. But the important thing is that each human being is an individual infused with dignity and the ability to be an author of their story. This song is about perseverance, and daring to spit in the face of the odds.”
