Due out on 15th May, Neon Dom is the new album from German dark rock band Unzucht, and ahead of that is their latest single taken from it, ‘Nie Mehr Zurück’.
The song tackles the serious issue of depression, carrying the message that no one facing it is alone.
Thematically, the album itself explores the boundaries of human existence: inner conflicts, a battlefield of fears and the disintegration of supposed certainties — and yet the tireless search for hope in a world that is increasingly slipping away.
Featuring new vocalist Timm Hindorff, with guitar, vocals, programming and electronics by Daniel De Clercq, bass by Don Canone and drums by Toby Fuhrmann, tracks featured on the new album are: ‘Katharsis’, Neon Dom, ‘Feuerregen’, ‘Krieger’, ‘Chaos’, ‘Nie Mehr Zurück’, ‘1000 Scherben’, ‘Gegen Die Zeit’, ‘Koloss’, ‘Apokalypsis’, ‘Nachtschatten 1’ and ‘Nachtschatten 2’.
Title track ‘Neon Dom’ was a previous single. Described as a dystopian vision of humanity on the brink of destruction, trapped in digital overkill, it’s intended as a dark prophecy with a desperate view of the destruction of a world that does not belong to us.
The first single from the album was ‘Katharsis’. That one has been described as an outlet for cleansing the soul of old burdens, inner conflicts and struggles experienced — a way out of the darkness, to befriend your own demons, to understand them and learn to love them. The intention being that there is always light at the end of the tunnel, even if it cannot be seen yet.
