Tony Iommi has released his brand new album, From The Dark, via BMG, and the legendary Black Sabbath guitarist has marked the occasion with a lyric video for opening track ‘Over The Violent Sun’.
The record sees the man who gave heavy metal its riffs team up with Norwegian vocalist Jorn Lande, who shares writing credits on every song. Bassist Becky Baldwin and drummer Karl Brazil complete the line-up. Iommi co-produced the album with his long-time creative partner Mike Exeter, who also co-wrote and engineered it.
From The Dark has already won plenty of praise from critics, with many hailing it as one of the strongest rock releases of 2026. Judging by ‘Over The Violent Sun’, the dark, devilish riffing that made Iommi a legend is fully intact.
The album is available in several deluxe vinyl and CD formats. The deluxe CD adds two bonus tracks, ‘Scent Of Dark’ and ‘Deified’.
