Trust Lust Because The Devil Wears Nada

It’s In Lust WIt’s In Lust We Trust, or at least that’s the word from The Devil Wears Nada, whose new single ‘Victoria’ is out now, with the Swedish rock act’s next passion pronged long player due out 10th July through Eönian Records.

Described as a song for anyone who has wondered how Kiss‘s Animalize might have sounded written and produced in 2026, ‘Victoria’ features Paul Stanley’s son, Evan, letting rip on the track’s “monstrous” guitar solo.

Scandinavia has long been a breeding ground for world class melodic rock and AOR, and from Falköping, Sweden, The Devil Wears Nada are emerging as a formidable new torchbearer of that tradition. Rooted in the golden era of melodic hard rock, from the mid 1980s through the early 1990s, the band fuse nostalgic grandeur with a dramatic, contemporary edge. Drawing theatrical inspiration from the likes of Alice Cooper, Ghost and Lordi, they merge arena styled Scandinavian melodies with horror aesthetics and vintage hard rock energy.

Debut album Postalgia (also on Eönian Records) was initially released under the name Adecence, in an ultra limited pressing of just 100 CDs, and quickly became a coveted collector’s item. Reintroduced and remastered under their current name alongside two new studio recordings, a high octane cover of Nestor‘s ‘1989’ and expanded deluxe packaging, the release became one of Eönian Records’ best selling titles.

With upcoming album In Lust We Thrust, the band are said to have raised their creative bar, and it should appeal to fans of Nestor, Da Vinci, 220 Volt and FM, apparently brimming with explosive choruses, cinematic atmosphere and razor sharp modern production.

“Take the raw pulse of the ’70s, ’80s hard rock and glam metal, and mix it with our fascination for the macabre and the dramatic, that’s where The Devil Wears Nada lives,” according to guitarist Henrik Westergren.

“It’s Ludvig’s songwriting sensibility mixed with our collective love for the bizarre and dramatic,” Westergren said of Ludvig Alfvén, the band’s drummer who also plays keyboards and adds backing vocals, continuing: “It creates something that’s both familiar and unsettling, in the best way possible.

“If you’re reading this, thank you, for taking the time to listen, and hopefully for supporting this album built from blood, sweat, and countless hours of passion. Let’s keep the spirit of melodic rock alive and loud. The Devil Wears Nada is just getting started.”

The guitarist also plays keyboards and sings backing vocals with the band, Linus Johansson takes on both lead and backing vocals, and Fredrik Svensson Carlström plays bass.

The band’s previous single was charged power ballad ‘Elephant In The Room’. Written by the band alongside Sampsa Astala, best known as a former member of Finnish rock giants Lordi and a Eurovision Song Contest winner, it is cinematic with a sense of grandeur inspired by the golden era of pop rock, drawing on classic acts like Roxette.

“This is a song that makes you feel like you’ve been transported straight back to an 80s dancefloor,” said Westergren. “There’s something about the melody and atmosphere that just pulls you into that world.”

Alfvén added: “We really wanted to create something that gives you that nostalgic rush, like a flashback to a time none of us actually lived through. We’re all 90s kids, but there’s something magical about that era that we wanted to bring back.”

The collaboration with Astala also highlights the band’s ambition and direction moving forward: “Working with Sampsa has been an incredible experience. Being able to write with someone who’s been part of Eurovision history and a band like Lordi is both inspiring and surreal. This track is just a taste of what’s to come.”

Previously, the high voltage blast and unapologetic swagger of their ‘Brat With A Baseball Bat’ single meshed Europe and Kiss, with Alfvén commenting: “I’ve always loved the tension between beauty and chaos. This song lives right in that space, big melodies, sharp edges, and a heartbeat that feels like it might explode at any second. That’s The Devil Wears Nada in its purest form.”

Sophomore album In Lust We Thrust features the tracks ‘96.2 FM Postalgia Radio’, ‘Brat With A Baseball Bat’, ‘Last Forever’, ‘Misery Is You’, ‘In Lust We Thrust’, ‘Elephant In The Room’, ‘Victoria (Featuring Evan Stanley)’, ‘Dead & Breakfast’, ‘Shotgun Wedding’, ‘Wednesday’ and ‘Ms. Black’. It is available on CD, vinyl and digitally.
