Review: Vitja – Digital Love

There is a certain rawness that is dealt out on ‘Scum’ that is highly charged and more potent than rocket fuel and no doubt sends you into space on listening. The vocals are gravelly and throaty just the way metal should be sung and executed superbly. ‘D(e)ad’ can certainly be described as edgy and melodic no doubt about it as it makes headway to attention grab which it does superbly with amazing lyrics to boot.

‘No One As Master No One As Slave’ holds a warm melodic thrust of rhythms that penetrate with a superb raw scaring vocal that seethes vehemently. Firing out feisty attitude and dual vocals grazing, making it a very powerful track indeed!

Roses’ pumps out a magnetic rhythm, forceful irresistible vocals and has a natural range while the riffs seduce is yet another rhythmic explosion. ‘Digital Love’ is a really special track as its nu-metal flavour reaps havoc with the senses.  It’s a very fertile track that offers a lot throughout its rapacious textures.

‘Six Six Sick’ rewards the ears with some glorious and subtle synth notes, before a scathing vocal explodes over the top of it and adds its emotive force to the drama. ‘The Golden Shot’ sounds like an angry wasp in a Jam jar as it suddenly escapes from its restraints leaving a musical trail in its wake. The badgering tones are commanding and slightly jazzy without being progressive but there is a lot going on.

‘Heavy Rain’ darts out of its comfort zone at the beginning of the track with a spiralling riff and softer vocal that produces a warm embrace with underlying intensity! ‘Find What You Love and Kill It’ sounds like it is taking place in a factory of sorts that are machine producing as heavy melodic chunks of rhythms are expelled for duty and increasingly interesting. It has momentum and works well with the audial, hard hitting and throws out a superb track!

‘In Pieces’ is another industrial sounding timepiece with the force of machinery leading the way boldly forcing out a bruising turbulence. ‘The Flood’ is very unique and quirky with high pitched notes, chanting and thunderous rhythms with pounding beats. Holding attitude like an angry spirit in the middle of a haunting! However, it also portrays a warm rhythm too despite the harsh vocal slurring so offering the right blend of catchy and stirring infection.

Vitja Digital Love is out 3rd March 2017 via Century Media Records
