The world’s fastest band have just made their biggest move in two decades. DragonForce have announced Alissa White-Gluz as their newest member and first frontwoman, kicking off what looks set to be the most electrifying chapter in the power metal pioneers’ career so far.
We really like the timing of this. The debut live performances with White-Gluz begin this Saturday, May 9th, at Welcome To Rockville, followed by Sonic Temple on May 17th, and they coincide with the 20th anniversary of Inhuman Rampage — the 2006 album that gave the world ‘Through The Fire And Flames’, the Platinum-selling Guitar Hero III boss track that spent 23 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200. Pairing a milestone anniversary with a major lineup expansion is a smart bit of story-building, and there is plenty more on the way: extensive touring is set to be revealed throughout 2026, and a 10th studio album is already in the works.
Guitarist Herman Li said of the addition: “Alissa joining the band is an expansion of everything we’ve done up to this point. Twenty years is a long time to do anything, let alone survive the music industry and still be so inspired to continue doing what we love. Together we will honor what made Inhuman Rampage matter, while showing people exactly where we’re going next. Having Alissa in the room changes everything.”
White-Gluz brings serious pedigree. Her work spans The Agonist, Kamelot, twelve years in Arch Enemy (which she departed at the end of 2025), and her recently launched solo project Blue Medusa. Across two decades on stage she has racked up over 15 hours of recorded music, 60+ music videos, 40+ collaborations and more than 2,000 concerts — all while becoming one of the most recognisable and versatile voices in heavy music.
On joining DragonForce, White-Gluz said: “I am beyond excited to be bringing such iconic music to life with these amazingly skilled musicians in such a fun and inspiring environment. It feels great to showcase all the colours of my voice and utilize all my singing styles in technically challenging, deeply energizing, highly addictive songs.”
The expanded DragonForce now sits at six members, with Marc Hudson continuing on lead vocals alongside White-Gluz. The official video for ‘Burning Heart’ offers a first glimpse of what is coming next.
