Spooky singer and paranormal investigator Brocarde has revealed she is currently haunted by a vintage Download Dog mascot. She fears it could become the next Annabelle.
The two-inch plastic relic from 2015 was discovered in a box hidden deep in her basement. Since unearthing the collectable, the self-proclaimed ghost whisperer claims she has been plagued by freezing cold spells, vivid nightmares, and objects moving around her home. Most chillingly, she says the snarling mascot moves across rooms by itself when heavy metal music is playing.
Brocarde believes she unknowingly brought a spirit attachment home from Donington Park in 2024. This was where she conducted an official pre-festival ghost hunt.
“Objects like dolls, clowns, and toys make great vessels for spirit communication,” Brocarde explains. “I’m fascinated to find out more about what’s haunting this dog. It seems a bit of a wild heart. Perhaps it’s demonic, perhaps it just wants to headbang. Maybe I have the next Annabelle on my hands, or maybe its bark is worse than its bite.”
The Duchess of Darkness is currently conducting a full paranormal investigation into the toy. She plans to lock it inside a protective box before taking it on a UK tour, eventually returning it to its spiritual home at Download Festival XXIII this weekend.
The heavy metal horror icon first made headlines after marrying and later exorcising the ghost of a Victorian soldier named Edwardo. Her twisted fairytale aesthetic and theatrical rock style have earned her praise from rock royalty like Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale. KoRn drummer Ray Luzier also joins the fray, lending his thunderous percussion to her latest single, ‘Seven Sins‘.
The bizarre news lands right alongside the launch of her long-awaited debut album, Good Attendance At Sunday School, which dropped on June 5, 2026. Ten years in the making, the record blends gothic storytelling with explosive, theatrical rock energy. It serves as a raw emotional storyboard mapping her journey from an anxious child into an artist fully capturing her own narrative.
Stay tuned for Brocarde‘s freaky findings live from the festival grounds this week.
