Electronic composer and producer Hari Limaye’s high profile work tends to revolve around the fashion world, whereas under the alter ego of Max Avoidance his interests lie more in the fields of electronica, rap and gothic music for what’s been described as “a woozy concoction of atmospheric darkwave, experimental electronic and dream pop”.
For many years, Limaye lived a double life: a gifted child who started medical school, whilst moonlighting as a score composer to the high fashion industry, before personal trials led to the whole thing falling apart. He has since undergone a journey of healing underpinned by resilience, spent years honing his sonic craft, deriving inspiration from adverse lived experience.
Testing the waters last year, with an EP also in the works, Max Avoidance‘s fourth single ‘Easy’ is now out. “It’s about being stuck in a place where you feel like everyone gets it, except you,” he says of it.
Recorded and produced at Limaye’s home in Islington, it was mixed and further produced by Nick Brine (Oasis, Stone Roses, Stereophonics) at his studios in Spain and Wales.
